As the main player in our portfolio we were keen to move Carlos on. At the start of the transfer window Southampton got in contact with us and sent me a message on the platform and obtained my contact details. Within a week from the first point of contact we were able to conclude a deal.
Opening up a world of transfer opportunities
When Insua & Rol Sports Group joined TransferRoom as a Trusted Agency ahead of the 2022-23 Winter Transfer Window, they had two main targets.
To open up their global network by making connections outside of their home locations of Argentina and Spain.
And to secure big moves for their talents, most notably Carlos Alcaraz from Argentinian side Racing Club.
They managed to accomplish both in their first transfer window on the platform, utilising their direct access to over 650 clubs in 60 countries on TransferRoom to move 20-year-old midfielder Alcaraz to Southampton in the Premier League for €14m.
Alcaraz quickly adapted to life in England, with two goals in his first two home starts, all the more remarkable considering the transfer was also done in quick time.
Sebastian Lopez, Partner for Insua & Rol Sports Management, explained in the video below at a TransferRoom Summit in London: “As the main player in our portfolio we were keen to move Carlos on. At the start of the transfer window Southampton got in contact with us and sent me a message on the platform and obtained my contact details. Within a week from the first point of contact we were able to conclude a deal.”
As a Trusted Agency, Insua & Rol were verified as the representatives of their players. Also, the players, including Alcaraz, personally verify their presence on the platform, providing transparency and proof that they’re being represented by the correct agent.
'Clubs treat us as verified agents'
That first point of contact was Southampton declaring interest in Alcaraz after Insua & Rol Sports Group made him available on TransferRoom. That meant Lopez could speak directly to the decision makers at Southampton.
“Including Carlos in our player portfolio was important as the club had already done scouting and analysis on the player,” Lopez added. “Once this was done they got in contact with me on the platform and had a meeting where we finalised the deal.
“After this, we did another deal through the pitching functionality which allows us to search for club requirements in the market and offer relevant players that match their needs. In Carlos’s case it was a direct contact and an express deal as it was closed within a week.”
“The good thing about being a verified agent on TransferRoom is that the clubs treat us as the verified agent of a player.
“The platform allows us to verify and confirm the players that belong to our agency. It is also important for us in a negotiation scenario with clubs.
“In this way, the biggest clubs in the world can find our agency and our portfolio of players included in the platform and, based on each club’s interest, they can find us and begin negotiations.”
