Being a TransferRoom Trusted Agency is saving the precious time of Cantera Latina in Mexico, as well as for the clubs, and it's helping them to build trust and get deals done globally, as their Owner, Matías Bunge, explains.
Being a Trusted Agent means that the clubs feel more comfortable that they are talking to the right person, and also for us as agencies it's good to have the correct person to talk to in different clubs.
Building trust in a competitive industry
The football agency world has never been more competitive and chaotic. Thousands of intermediaries are trying to work their way into deals to earn high commissions and it can be hard for the decision-makers at clubs to be sure who is actually representing a player.
And the agency representing the players can have to deal with numerous rival agents or intermediaries wrongly claiming to represent their clients.
This is a key problem that leading Mexican agency Cantera Latina and their owner, Matías Bunge, have been facing, but they have found a way to solve it.
They are the agency behind high-profile moves to Europe for many of Mexico's top players, including Santiago Giménez's transfer to Feyenoord, moves to Sevilla, Porto and FC Twente for Jesús Corona, Erick Gutiérrez joining PSV Eindhoven and Diego Reyes' switch to Porto.
They have grown their representation to Colombia and other key Latin American markets as they look to bring the next star players from the region to Europe's biggest leagues.
Cantera Latina are now verified as the representatives by their players on TransferRoom.
They are one of over 500 Trusted Agencies on football's only transfer marketplace. That means they are verified by their players as their representatives.
And they get direct access to the decision-makers at over 800 clubs through the platform, with those clubs able to easily see who they represent and contact them directly.
"Being a Trusted Agent means that the clubs feel more comfortable that they are talking to the right person, and also for us as agencies it's good to have the correct person to talk to in different clubs," Bunge said in the video below. "So yeah, it's very beneficial.
"So you don't waste a lot of time and also you don't make the clubs waste time in order to try to search who the agent is."
Bunge was speaking at June 2024's TransferRoom Summit in Cancun, Mexico, where close to 100 clubs and agencies from all over the world met for one-to-one meetings and exclusive networking on the eve of the Summer Transfer Window.
Connections are made and transfer talks are fast-tracked through the Summit, while Cantera Latina can also pitch players directly to the clubs and see what the clubs are looking for through TransferRoom's online platform.
"Cantera Latina was born as a Mexican agency and now we are open in the market, also in Colombia, and mainly we are focused on young players, with big potential that can normally go to Europe.
"The TransferRoom platform continues to help us, in order to move players to different steps that they might make in the coming months or years.
"We use the platform a lot in order to get in contact with different clubs in Europe, MLS. It's quite useful, the way we're using the platform right now."
