Film star and now Co-Owner of Integral Sports Management, Ray Winstone and two key ISM agents explain why they joined TransferRoom as a Trusted Agency.
I'm ecstatic to work with TransferRoom. For me it's the way forward and you know, for us to be accepted as part of your team, it's a reflection on us, it's great because that means we're moving in the right direction as well.
'It shows we're moving in the right direction'
After more than 50 years in the movie business as a widely renowned actor, Ray Winstone knows all about how difficult it is to reach the top in such a competitive field.
Now he is combining his other big passion, sport, and especially football, as the Co-Founder and Owner of Integral Sports Management agency, who represent nearly 40 footballers aiming to reach the highest level.
And key to giving their portfolio of mainly young talents, half of which are male and half are female, the tools they need to reach the top is to innovate, to build a global network of clubs and to get all the latest information on what clubs need in the transfer market.
ISM get all of those things now they have joined TransferRoom, world football’s marketplace.
TransferRoom is an online platform used by over 800 clubs and 550 Trusted Agencies, including ISM, from across 130 leagues worldwide. They get direct contact to the key decision-makers and real-time intelligence on clubs’ needs in the transfer market.
Winstone said in the video below: “I'm ecstatic to work with TransferRoom. For me it's the way forward and you know, for us to be accepted as part of your team, it's a reflection on us, it's great because that means we're moving in the right direction as well.”
Winstone and Co-Owner Garry Pettit have assembled a team of expert agents to represent their talent, mainly based in the UK and Ireland. That team is led by Director of Football Mark Arber and Freya Clothier, their Head of Women’s Football who also works closely with Arber in the men’s game.
Arber said: “Not everyone's career goes in a straight line. This year we'll have at least four or five out of contract. So again it gives us a resource straight away.
“If you've got a trusted relationship with someone, you go above and beyond to make sure everyone's happy when a deal's done, then I think you'll get repeat business time and time again.”
Clothier added: “TransferRoom allows you to build a network and expand the network that you might have already had in place, but it grows it to 800 clubs on TransferRoom worldwide, and it's just so much more efficient than you can be yourself.
“You want your clients to be at a club where they're valued and where they're needed. It's not the case of just filling. The gap. It's a case of look that matches it up because of ‘X’ amount that sort of age and whatnot, and I think TransferRoom does that perfectly with matching your player to the right club that is a good fit.
“And for us as an agency, how you get new clients is by being respectable and getting them good deals.”
Laurence Burton is responsible for leading TransferRoom’s commercial growth across UK football, growing the portfolio of football club decision-makers and verified agencies like ISM using the platform.
He said: “The volume of work it takes for an agent to proactively source all the requirements of every club worldwide in real time and actually actively speak to them at the right time with their players, that would take them 8-9 months. The activity you can do on TransferRoom organically takes about 2 or 3 days.”
