Filippo Antonelli has been named as the new Sporting Director of Venezia FC, following his departure from AC Monza.
Our warmest thanks go to Filippo and best wishes for his professional future.
Antonelli, 44, has signed a contract until the end of the 2025-26 season.
Mattia Collauto lost his job as Sporting Director after Venezia were relegated to Serie B for the 2022-23 season, swapping places with Monza, which are in Serie A for the first time in their history.
Antonelli resigned from Monza at the end of November following a "cordial conversation with CEO Adriano Galliani", the club said at the time.
He joins a Venezia club that has had multiple success on the TransferRoom platform, most recently with the loan signing of Aaron Connolly from Brighton & Hove Albion, following a targeted Plus Pitch by the Premier League club.
Monza, meanwhile, have named club manager Michele Franco as their new Sporting Director.
Antonelli's playing career spanned more than 15 clubs across Serie A, B and C over 18 years. He had a short stint as Sporting Director at Pro Patria before being named Sporting Director at Monza in 2015-16.
