International Football Management counts some of Switzerland’s biggest footballers in its portfolio, and now it holds the title of being the first agency from the country to sign up to TransferRoom.
TransferRoom really helps us in the markets where we are not strong. In Germany and Switzerland, I know everything that is going on. But we cannot be everywhere so in many countries, like Holland or Denmark, we have previously had to have a collaboration with another agency. Being part of this community helps to have direct contacts to the clubs
Addressing players' demands
For Franco Moretti, Vice-Director and Player Agent at IFM, the company’s mission statement is simple: “Deliver the best service as possible.”
And now, by becoming a Trusted Agent of TransferRoom, IFM’s job has been made just that little bit easier by opening up more career channels for its players.
Moretti said: “As an agency we always want to provide the best circumstances for our players. When we see on the market something is going on that makes sense for our players, we quickly take up that opportunity. It is an advantage for our players. We are happy to gain use of this tool and work together.”
Unlocking Switzerland's potential
IFM, which is headquartered in Winterthur, a city in the canton of Zürich, has been in operation for over 30 years, with its five agents representing 50 players, including a handful of Switzerland’s Euro 2020 squad: Manuel Akanji (Borussia Dortmund); Nico Elvedi and Yann Sommer (both Borussia Monchengladbach); Ruben Vargas (Augsburg); and Admir Mehmedi (Wolfsburg).
A number of its lesser-known players still play in Switzerland, which has traditionally been an export market, meaning often complex transfers with many parties involved in the deal.
However, as a TransferRoom Trusted Agent, never has the world been more accessible. IFM now has direct access to club decision-makers.
Moretti continued: “TransferRoom really helps us in the markets where we are not strong. In Germany and Switzerland, I know everything that is going on. But we cannot be everywhere so in many countries, like Holland or Denmark, we have previously had to have a collaboration with another agency. Being part of this community helps to have direct contacts to the clubs.”
With instant information about what more than 550 clubs from over 50 countries are looking to achieve in the market, IFM is strengthening its offer to current and prospective clients.
He added: “Switzerland is an export country, so we need the opportunity for clubs to buy players. Now we have a big overview of all the clubs’ needs and wider access for our players.”
