Swiss Super League club Servette FC have parted ways with Sporting Director Philippe Senderos.
The club and the entire Grenat family thank him for the work accomplished during these three wonderful years and wish him the best for his professional future. During his time at the club, he showed a strong commitment based on solid values that he put at the service of Servette FC.
The surprise announcement comes with the club in second position in the Swiss Super League.
Senderos, 37 (pictured at TransferRoom Summit), started his playing career with Servette, before going onto join Arsenal and enjoying a long career in Europe and USA.
He took on the role of Sporting Director in August 2020.
Senderos announced his departure on social media, writing on Twitter: "The life of a club is made up of circles. Mine is coming to an end.
"After my playing career, I had the chance to return home, to the club of my heart as Sporting Director. It was an extraordinary experience.
"During these three seasons, I continued the professionalisation of the club with the Academy as a pillar of the development project and the strategy put in place by the Board of Directors and the Owner of the Club."
Servette said in a statement: "The club and the entire Grenat family thank him for the work accomplished during these three wonderful years and wish him the best for his professional future. During his time at the club, he showed a strong commitment based on solid values that he put at the service of Servette FC.
"The Board of Directors will now continue its work on a strategic change aimed at optimising the organisation of the club, particularly in the sports sector."
Senderos talked about his transition from player to Sporting Director in an exclusive interview with TransferRoom in 2022 that can be read here.
