Unrivalled Market Intelligence

Data is crucial now if clubs and agencies want to get ahead of their competition and stay there when they get to the top. Intelligence for Clubs is a new suite of intelligence tools, built to turn our unique transfer market data points into actionable tools to help clubs be more successful.

While clubs have access to data across the football industry, it’s often time-consuming to collect and quickly becomes out of date if not maintained.

So, we’ve made it one of our key objectives to take that challenge away from clubs and develop a comprehensive intelligence suite to support clubs of all sizes.

Let’s explore the 10 datasets which we've introduced as early access into TransferRoom,  their core value and a bonus addition to Intelligence for Clubs.

Game Model

What is it?

With our Game Model, you can modify and assign weighting to different player attributes most important to your team searching for new players.

For example, some clubs are looking for a ball-playing centre-back, others an aggressive front-foot defender. Our Game Model allows you to identify the attributes most important to the role you’re scouting for and produce a list of suitable players in that position.

Why is it valuable?

1. Defined Playing Style
We understand that many clubs have a defined playing style and this identification of talent matching unique style to player is key to maintaining continuity.

2. Streamline recruitment process
By weighting what is most important, users can shortlist potential candidates much quicker, streamlining the identification and recruitment process.

Loan Destination Finder

What is it?

Loaning players can feel like a lottery at times, with so many factors playing a part in whether the loan is successful or not. With our Loan Destination Finder, you can evaluate prospective clubs more thoroughly and place your players in locations where they are likely to shine.

You can identify style matches based on the Manager's preferred playing style, evaluate their trust in youth, their track record of developing loan players and more.

Why is it valuable?

1. Increase probability of loan success
By taking a more analytical approach to loan placement, clubs give themselves the best probability that a loan will be “successful” in terms of game time, playing style and how they impact on the Expected Transfer Value of a player.

2. Improve loan placement at scale
With so many loans happening, being able to evaluate a large sample of destinations in one platform saves significant time and resources against more manual assessment.

Financial Insights

What is it?

Our users can review the financial performance of any club globally based on their transfer spending patterns across the last three years on a rolling basis.

This includes a club's transfer spend domestically vs internationally, how much they overpay or underpay against xTV and their spending trends from one window to the next.

Why is it valuable?

1. Club or League
You can evaluate the historical financial performance of specific clubs or entire leagues, which provides trend insights on where specific clubs or leagues do most of their business and whether they tend to over or under pay.

2. It's difficult to consolidate this anywhere else
For most clubs, consolidating this kind of real-time data on clubs at scale is unrealistic, so there is huge value in being able to jump in and evaluate any club or league without the maintenance cost.

Predicted Requirements

What is it?

Club football can be very secretive in terms of what clubs are looking for in any given moment. TransferRoom has changed that drastically with the ability of clubs to share their requirements and player availability. But we've now taken that even further.

We’ve built a predictive model, designed to evaluate clubs' squads and financial situations at scale and assess what kind of players they may be looking to recruit ahead of each window.

This allows users to pitch players more strategically to opportunities where the probability of a successful outcome is higher.

Why is it valuable?

1. Anticipate club needs
These predictions allow clubs to get ahead of potential competitors and position themselves as the primary solution for a potential transfer.

2. Real-time visibility
These predictions are forever evolving as transfer moves happen, so users can uncover new opportunities in real time and react quickly to position themselves.

Squad ROI (Return On Investment)

What is it?

This calculator evaluates the cost of each member of a squad against their playing time to showcase which players represent good or bad Return On Investment (ROI).

These insights can be benchmarked at a league level, providing clarity on how efficient each club is in generating ROI on player transfers.

Why is it valuable?

1. Improve efficiency
By understanding where you rank against other clubs, users are able to evaluate their efficiency when it comes to squad acquisition and management. Those at the higher end can maintain current strategies while those at the lower end will need to work on improvements.

2. Identify outplacement candidates
By putting data to this, clubs can identify which players may be worth moving on, based on their cost versus availability year on year.

Agency Influence Index

What is it?

The Agency Influence Index is a way of understanding the influence or soft power that an agency has with any club in the world.

The index score is based on several factors including their player representation from that club and transfer history.

Why is it valuable?

1. Intermediation of deals
To help clubs understand the complex relationship dynamics between club and agents and evaluate who they may need to involve in certain deals to make them happen.

2. Highlight a lack of network in certain markets
By understanding the influence landscape, clubs can identify potential areas of their network which are not as strong and take a proactive approach to connecting with the relevant agent partners.

Salary Benchmarking

What is it?

Salary Benchmarking is a way of understanding the median salary bandings for any league around the world and making a comparison with players at your club.

The benchmark will indicate where your player would likely fit within that league, in terms of league position, squad role, estimated take-home salary.

The benchmarks are based on several factors including the wealth of the league, club, players position, our xTV data and more.

Why is it valuable?

1. Improve negotiating position
Clubs can take a stronger negotiating position with contract renewals as they can present clear benchmarks to justify salary offers.

2. Avoid overcommitting
For incoming transfers, some players will come from lower salaries or lower take homes and this can be used by clubs to your advantage when negotiating with the incoming player.

Club Staff Tracker

What is it?

We have a unique position in the transfer market when it comes to tracking the moves of players and staff.

This newsfeed allows you to track when football industry professionals across nine key roles, from Sporting Director to Loans Manager and coaching positions, either join or leave a club in real time.

Why is it valuable?

1. Network moves
When a contact you have a relationship with moves to a new club, this creates a new opportunity to speak with that club.

2. Monitor trends and changes
This feed allows users  to understand which clubs may be moving in a new direction stylistically, what talent is on the market and more.

League Registration Rules

What is it?

A consolidated view of which players can sign for each league or club and what their unique playing conditions are to qualify for a visa, for example.

It breaks down what the complications are when pitching players to each league and potentially understands the pros and cons of moves.

For example, in Spain you can only register up to three non-EU players in your 25-man squad, so understanding this and evaluating if there is space in the squad is key to the overall success of a potential pitch.

Why is it valuable?

1. Identify best-fit leagues
See where each of your players currently qualify and, when paired with salary benchmarking, you can build a data-led list of the best leagues for return on investment for each of your players.

2. Strategic relationships
By understanding which leagues are best aligned with your own domestic league, you can prioritise building up relationships with key stakeholders in those leagues.

Transfer Window Tracker

What is it?

A breakdown of global transfer windows and the associated details on when they open and close, plus any restrictions around these windows to help you navigate global markets without delay.

Why is it valuable?

1. Plan transfers strategically
Identify which windows are open at any point and pivot your interests to those leagues when looking at players moves.

2. Maximise the loan market
Ensure that any loan moves can be completed quickly and at scale, even if one option closes there are still plenty of others.

Intelligence for Clubs is designed to centralise all of these data points, removing the blockers of not having enough time, lack of benchmarks and giving every club an opportunity to take a data-first approach to the transfer market.
