Adana Demirspor have appointed Muhammed Türkmen as their new Sporting Director, following the exit of Gökhan Göktürk.
We would like to thank our Sporting Director Gökhan Göktürk, who has served our club for four years, for his efforts so far, and wish him a clear path and a successful career.
Göktürk (pictured) had been with the Turkish Super Lig club since the beginning of the 2018-19 season, initially as Academy Manager and then from the end of 2020 as Sporting Director.
He is well-known throughout Turkey for his work with young players, having also been Academy Manager at both Galatasary and Altinordu in the past.
Türkmen, who retired from playing in 2017, was most recently President of the Macedonian team FK Vardar.
Adana Demirspor, which currently sit fourth in the Turkish top-flight, said in a statement: "We would like to thank our Sporting Director Gökhan Göktürk, who has served our club for four years, for his efforts so far, and wish him a clear path and a successful career."
Göktürk told TransferRoom that after four years in the role and the club in a strong position this season, the time was right to move on and that he is looking forward to the next opportunity.
