Streppel rejoins home club Helmond Sport as Technical Director
by Jonathan Rest

Jurgen Streppel has been appointed as the new Technical Director of Helmond Sport, the Dutch second division club.

I owe a lot to Helmond Sport. Both as a player and as a trainer, my career in professional football started at Helmond Sport. The club is ambitious and I look forward to further shaping the club's challenges for the coming years.
Jurgen Streppel
Technical Director, Helmond Sport

Streppel has quit as Head Coach of Roda JC, also of the Eerste Divisie, to sign a multi-year deal with Helmond.

The 53-year-old will be responsible for all technical matters, including the youth academy, and succeeds Louis Coolen, who has left the club with immediate effect.

Streppel lives in Helmond, played more than 250 matches for the club and spent three seasons as manager there between 2008 and 2011.

Since then he has been both manager and Director of Football at Willem II, and head coach at Heerenveen, Anorthosis Famagusta, Al-Jazira and now Roda JC.

Streppe said: "I owe a lot to Helmond Sport. Both as a player and as a trainer, my career in professional football started at Helmond Sport. The club is ambitious and I look forward to further shaping the club's challenges for the coming years."
