The Toppserien champions have joined the TransferRoom Women’s Marketplace, reinforcing the club’s commitment to professionalising its operations and staying ahead in the rapidly evolving women’s game.
The biggest challenge in the women's transfer market is access and visibility - it can be difficult to find the right players without an extensive network. TransferRoom makes this easier by creating a transparent, structured marketplace where clubs can connect directly and efficiently.
Built on identity, driven by ambition
SK Brann have joined the TransferRoom Women’s Marketplace, reinforcing the club’s commitment to professionalising its operations and staying ahead in the rapidly evolving women’s game.
For Sporting Director Lars Johan Myklebust, the move is a natural extension of both the Toppserien champions' ambition and its identity.
"SK Brann has a strong history and identity in Norwegian football, and we take pride in being a forerunner when it comes to equal opportunities for our players, he explains. "Our vision is to regularly win titles in front of a full Brann Stadion and an electric Brann atmosphere.”
That ambition is matched by a recognition that women’s football is changing quickly, with greater competitiveness and increasing demands on clubs to operate in a more structured and globalised environment. For SK Brann, joining TransferRoom’s new Women’s Marketplace was about meeting that challenge head-on.
“We joined TransferRoom because we believe the women’s game is growing fast and requires professional, efficient tools to match that growth," Myklebust explains.
"TransferRoom gives us direct access to clubs and agents across the world, which saves time and opens up opportunities we wouldn't easily find through traditional channels. It also helped the decision that we have positive experience with TransferRoom from our men's side.”
TransferRoom's Women’s Marketplace enables clubs to move quickly, initiate transfer dialogue and explore opportunities beyond their traditional networks.
One of the clearest challenges in the women’s transfer market remains access—both in terms of identifying talent and building connections beyond a club’s immediate network. Myklebust believes this is where the platform can make a meaningful difference.
“The biggest challenge in the women's transfer market is access and visibility - it can be difficult to find the right players without an extensive network," he says.
"TransferRoom makes this easier by creating a transparent, structured marketplace where clubs can connect directly and efficiently.”
Beyond efficiency, SK Brann also see a wider structural impact. As the women’s game continues to professionalise, tools that bring clarity and consistency to the transfer process are becoming increasingly important.
“It makes the transfer process in women's football more professional. Having a dedicated marketplace makes it possible for more clubs to see transfers as part of the club's business model - and that's a step in the right direction for the sport."
For Myklebust, the message to clubs still considering whether to join is straightforward:
“Just do it. I don't think we are getting an edge on others by being part of TransferRoom. I think we will be left behind if we are not there.”
