by Jonathan Rest

Hertha BSC have parted ways with three more executives from the football operations department, most notably Head of Recruitment Dirk Dufner.

These decisions were made as part of our restructuring, reorganisation and economic consolidation measures.

Dufner, along with Chief Scout Babacar Wane and Squad Management executive Johannes Waigand have all left the Bundesliga club, Managing Director Thomas Herrich confirmed.

Herrich told dpa, the German Press Agency: "These decisions were made as part of our restructuring, reorganisation and economic consolidation measures."

Dufner (pictured left with Waigand at a TransferRoom Summit) joined Hertha in July 2021. He is a former Sporting Director at the likes of 1860 Munich, SC Freiburg and Hannover 96.

Dufner and Wane had been brought to the club by Fredi Bobic, who was dismissed as Sporting CEO of Hertha in January.

A legal dispute is ongoing between Bobic and the club, which is now majority owned  by US investment company 777 Partners.
