Realistic transfers on global scale for pioneering Ecuadorian club
by Jack Hyom

President of LDU Quito, the first TransferRoom members from Ecuador, says the platform allows them to make signings and get offers from a network of over 700 clubs to fit their budget.

We joined TransferRoom to get access to an integrated system of connections and contacts with different teams and to be able to showcase players from our institution that we can sell to a global network of clubs.

President, Liga Deportiva Universitaria

Finding transfers in your budget range

The global transfer market is coming to Ecuador after the first club from the nation joined TransferRoom.

Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito, known as LDU, have joined more than 700 clubs worldwide on football’s transfer marketplace, getting direct access to club decision makers and real-time data and player availability from over 100 leagues.

They join more than 60 clubs in a fast-growing community from South America on TransferRoom, and they follow in the footsteps of Venezuela’s Caracas FC in becoming a nation's first members of football's marketplace in the continent.

For LDU, one of the most successful clubs in the Ecuadorian Serie A, their transfer market success has previously been limited by a lack of reliable knowledge of which potential signings or buying clubs fit the financial range they are looking for, and a lack of credible offers which meet their budgetary requirements.

But now on TransferRoom they can target the clubs at the financial and on-pitch level they are looking for, as well as finding suitable, realistic signings within their range.

“We joined TransferRoom to get access to an integrated system of connections and contacts with different teams and to be able to showcase players from our institution that we can sell to a global network of clubs,” Esteban Paz, the President of LDU Quito, says.

“Our biggest challenge is to receive offers that are in the economic range we have requested for our players up for transfers, as well as looking for potential signings that may be of interest to us and are not out of our reach financially.

“TransferRoom will help address these problems by giving us information from different teams and players and setting up meetings that help us improve player profiles and relationships with different club decision makers.”

Global connections at TransferRoom Summits

TransferRoom not only offers a digital platform, but a series of TransferRoom Summits every year, giving decision makers the opportunity to hold transfer talks and network with their counterparts from hundreds of clubs, all in one place at one time. And that is a big selling point for LDU Quito, with the next one in São Paulo, Brazil, on 19-20 June 2023.

Paz says: “It is always useful to have meetings with executives from different institutions and this can be achieved if there are events that bring together the people from the different clubs who make decisions in player recruitment and negotiations worldwide.”
