Having direct access to decision-makers at more than 650 clubs worldwide and not having to rely on costly intermediaries to help with transfer business has convinced FC Rapid 1923 to join TransferRoom.
For sure, it is very important to be able to discuss and speak with legitimate and verified people from the clubs and the fact that everything on TransferRoom is very transparent is important for us, this being one of the main values of our club.
Trusted worldwide
The Bucharest-based club have historically been limited to signing players from their domestic leagues or neighbouring countries, where their scouting network is strong.
However, doing business further afield where they have fewer connections and less access to market information has been more difficult, leaving the club open to the demands of third-party intermediaries.
The traditional method of relying on intermediaries and restricted access through their existing network often results in clubs having no direct line of communication with decision-makers, a lack of reliable information on which players are available, and for selling clubs insufficient knowledge of what the buying clubs are looking for.
Direct access to decision-makers
Now they are on TransferRoom, Rapid will have direct access to decision-makers from more than 650 clubs from 100 leagues in 60 countries through the platform, in-person events and virtual summits.
The platform gives member clubs the ability to see players’ availability, transfer fee and further financial requirements, bringing transparency into the transfer process.
Daniel Sandu, Rapid's Head of Scouting, explains: "For sure, it is very important to be able to discuss and speak with legitimate and verified people from the clubs and the fact that everything on TransferRoom is very transparent is important for us, this being one of the main values of our club.
"We will look into different markets worldwide and we are looking forward to building new and great partnerships."
Rapid, who last won Romania's top flight, Liga I, in 2002-03, will also benefit from real-time data on 90,000+ players worldwide through TransferRoom, as they aim to accelerate their commitment to bringing in higher-calibre foreign stars to provide competition for their homegrown players.
“For us as a club is an important step in our evolution to the top," Sandu continues. "It is a great feeling to be next to the best teams in the world.
“We joined the platform to be able to attract the best players possible to our club, based on clear information and a big picture of the transfer market. In this way we can open a lot of markets in the world and look for the next ‘big thing’ player."
Rapid will aim to emulate the success of members like Lech Poznan, whose strategy of opening up new markets to make smart signings alongside sales for their star players helped them recover from finishing 11th in Poland's top flight in 2020-21 to win the league title the following season.
“We are able to get quick and correct information and this gives a lot of value in a world where information is crucial and it is often false in the transfer market," Piotr Rutkowski, President and Owner of Lech Poznan, said.
