Tottenham Hotspur look set to be forced into a search for a new Managing Director of Football after Fabio Paratici was handed a global ban from the sport.
FIFA can confirm that following a request by the FIGC, the chairperson of FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to extend the sanctions imposed by FIGC on several football officials to have worldwide effect.
Paratici was one of 12 former and current Juventus executives to receive lengthy bans from FIGC, the Italian Football Association, at the turn of the year for alleged financial malpractice.
The punishment, which also saw Juventus docked 15 points, only initially covered Italian football, but FIFA has now extended the 30-month ban on Paratici worldwide.
Juventus and Paratici have denied any wrongdoing, and have appealed.
FIFA said in a statement: “FIFA can confirm that following a request by the FIGC, the chairperson of FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to extend the sanctions imposed by FIGC on several football officials to have worldwide effect.”
Spurs are already without a Manager following the dismissal of Antonio Conte.
Paratici spent 11 years at Juventus in technical and scouting roles, and had been Managing Director, Football since October 2020 before joining Spurs in June 2021.
