Daniel Andersson and Andreas Georgson have taken on new roles and responsibilities within Malmö FF's sporting department ahead of the new season.
In the role of Sporting Director, Daniel's solid broad experience helps us to maximise the more short-term goal fulfillment. While Andreas in the role of Technical Director with his experiences, both from previous years in the association and internationally, can ensure that we follow our sports strategy and thus reach our long-term goals.
Georgson (pictured right with Andersson) moves from Sporting Director to Technical Director, where he has strategic responsibility for achieving the club's long-term sporting goals. This includes recruitment, pathway development and scouting.
Malmö said they had decided to introduce a Technical Director role following an "annual sporting evaluation."
Georgson, a former coach at Brentford and Arsenal, is succeeded by Andersson, who had been Sporting Director of the club between 2014 and 2021.
As Sporting Director Andersson will continue to have primary responsibility for the implementation of recruitment and sales.
Georgson added: "In the search for an even better balance between short-term and long-term strategies and clarity in mine and Daniel's role allocation, this will be an important step. We will continue to work closely together, above all with analysis, scouting and recruitment of both players and leaders, even if the areas of responsibility are otherwise redistributed a little."
