Loan deals, global links: why Lausanne-Sport joined TransferRoom
by Jack Hyom
FC Lausanne-Sport are ready to do loan business with clubs in Europe's top leagues after joining TransferRoom, as they aim for an immediate return to the Swiss Super League.
TransferRoom will facilitate the link with the different clubs and help us make contact faster, as well as keeping us informed of the global transfer market. We mainly aim to use the platform to sign players on loan from clubs in major European leagues."
Tony Chauvat
Chief Scout, FC Lausanne-Sport

As the newest Swiss club on TransferRoom, Lausanne-Sport are looking to accelerate their transfer business by gaining access to more than 650 clubs from over 60 countries in 100 leagues on world football’s digital marketplace.

The club was relegated from Switzerland’s top flight in 2021-22, finishing 10th, but are already preparing for life in the second division with a target of bringing in talented youngsters from some of Europe's best leagues.

Chief Scout Tony Chauvat,  who works closely with Lausanne-Sport's new CEO Leen Heemskerk on the club's transfer strategy, told TransferRoom: “TransferRoom will facilitate the link with the different clubs and help us make contact faster, as well as keeping us informed of the global transfer market.

“We mainly aim to use the platform to sign players on loan from clubs in major European leagues."

In 2021-22, the club's incoming loans involved FC Metz right-back Sofiane Alakouch, FC Schaffhausen striker Rodrigo Pollero and the midfield duo of Jean N'Guessan, from their sister club OGC Nice (both owned by petrochemicals manufacturer INEOS), and Adrien Trébel of RSC Anderlecht.

Lausanne-Sport have won seven Swiss top-flight titles and the Swiss Cup on nine occasions, with their most recent major honour in 1999.
