Kotev back as Sporting Director of CSKA 1948
by Jonathan Rest

Kiril Kotev has returned to Bulgarian top-flight side CSKA 1948 as Sporting Director.

All of us at CSKA welcome the new Sporting Director of the club - Kiril Kotev, wishing him to be healthy, successful and still devoted to the army cause.

Kotev succeeds Radoslav Zdravkov, who resigned earlier in December.

The 40-year-old, a former Bulgaria international, was Sporting Director of CSKA 1948 between June 2018 and February 2021 after retiring from playing.

CSKA 1948 said: "All of us at CSKA welcome the new Sporting Director of the club - Kiril Kotev, wishing him to be healthy, successful and still devoted to the cause."

CSKA 1948 were founded in 2016, and worked their way up from the amateur leagues to Bulgaria's top-flight, where they now sit third, behind Ludogorets Razgrad, which joined TransferRoom earlier this year in a bid to expand their market access outside of the country.
