Small network gives limited sales options

As with many other clubs throughout Central America, selling players is vital to keep the finances healthy at Real CD España, one of Honduras’ biggest clubs.

But with a small network and little direct access to decision makers at clubs, it has been difficult for España to know who might be interested in one of their players.

That can lead to relying on the connections of intermediaries to make outgoing transfers rather than being in control of the sales process.

España President Elias Burbara said: “The biggest challenge for us as a club is to have the right connections to sell our players. That has to be our main objective. But it is not always easy to find what clubs outside of Honduras are looking for in the transfer market.”

Reacting instantly to club demands

For Burbara having a “trusted product” like TransferRoom will bring efficiency and transparency to the club’s transfer process.

With access to decision makers at more than 700 clubs from 100 leagues in over 60 countries, España will be the among the first to know when clubs are looking for a profile similar to one of their players.

And what is more, they will be able to instantly act on that information by pitching that very player directly to clubs through the platform.

Burbara added: “Soccer has changed. Over time, a lot of technology and digital platforms have been introduced to soccer and if your club is not up to date, you will be at a disadvantage.

“Through TransferRoom, we will be able to create connections more easily with other clubs and agents in order to close player transactions. We will be able to better showcase our club and our players through the platform.”

Honduran football's window to the world

España are one of 10 teams in the Liga Betcris de Honduras and the first to take advantage of direct access to decision-makers at clubs worldwide, including further north in North America, where Major League Soccer and Liga MX both have league-wide deals in place with TransferRoom.

A handful of the Honduran national team play in those leagues, and as such they are target markets for España to sell their top players.

Wilfredo Guzman, President of the league, hailed España for opening up their players to a global market of opportunities.
