Sven Mislintat is no longer Sporting Director of VfB Stuttgart, while Director of Football Ben Manga has left Bundesliga rivals Eintracht Frankfurt.
Sven has decided not to accept our contract offer. We regret that. Ending the negotiations now is a joint decision of all those responsible. But it doesn't change anything about our mutual respect. Sven Mislintat was part of our team for three and a half years and was always straightforward and passionate about VfB.
VfB said Mislintat had rejected what the clubs sees as "an absolutely market-oriented offer to extend the contract."
That contract was due to run until June 2023, but has been terminated with immediate effect.
Mislintat joined VfB in April 2019, after a little over one year as Head of Scouting at Arsenal FC. He made a name for himself in Germany as Chief Scout of Borussia Dortmund.
Alex Wehrle, CEO of VfB, said: "Sven has decided not to accept our contract offer. We regret that. Ending the negotiations now is a joint decision of all those responsible. But it doesn't change anything about our mutual respect. Sven Mislintat was part of our team for three and a half years and was always straightforward and passionate about VfB. Our thanks and respect go to him for the work he has done. Sven Mislintat will always be a welcome guest in Stuttgart and at VfB."
Mislintat added: "In our talks we didn't find a common denominator for continuing my work at VfB. I very much regret that because VfB has become a matter close to my heart in recent years and I would have liked to have continued to contribute to the positive development of this great club. I will never forget the time in Stuttgart, emotional highlights like promotion or the last-minute win on the last day of last season will stay with me forever."
Manga heading for London
Manga spent six-and-a-half-years with Eintracht, initially joining as Chief Scout and squad planner, before taking on the Director of Football role.
He had a contract until 2026, but that has been terminated with immediate effect after Manga "expressed his desire to leave" the club said.
Manga is expected to be unveiled as Technical Director of Watford FC, in England's second-tier, in due course.
Manga said: "For me it was a very intensive and unforgettable time, but now I would like to start a new chapter. This was not a decision against Eintracht; instead it was one for a new path. I would like to thank the club management for the constructive and respectful discussions. It’s very important to me that we part on good terms."
