Southampton FC are on the hunt for a new Head of Recruitment to succeed Joe Shields, who joined Chelsea FC in late 2022.
The Head of Recruitment will work collaboratively within a multi-club structure sharing knowledge and information across clubs.
It is another key vacancy that the Premier League club are looking to fill, with Jason Wilcox having recently been appointed as Director of Football. Wilcox will join in time for the 2023-24 season.
The successful candidate will lead on the identification of first-team player targets and work closely with Wilcox and the first-team manager "to understand the game model and define requirements for each transfer window, along with communicating player requirements clearly and precisely to market leads and producing player dossiers for the transfer committee."
Southampton's owners Sport Republic also own Göztepe SK in Turkey and there are wider plans to add more clubs. As such, the Head of Recruitment will work "collaboratively within a multi-club structure sharing knowledge and information across clubs."
Southampton have always had a strong focus on youth and their academy products so the Head of Recruitment will need experience in youth recruitment and will line manage the Head of Youth Recruitment to ensure a strong talent pipeline is identified throughout the club.
He will also manage the Player Pathways Manager to oversee the loan department.
