Stevie Grieve has left his role as Head of Performance & Recruitment at Forest Green Rovers with immediate effect.
Some of the player recruitment was good and some of it wasn’t. Stevie wasn’t solely to blame, but he was the Head of Recruitment.
Based in Dundee, Scotland, it was understood travel commitments were the reason for his decision.
Grieve only joined the League One club in November 2022, following the departure of Director of Football Rich Hughes to Portsmouth FC.
During the January window, Forest Green signed 11 players including talented Manchester United youngster Charlie Savage on loan, following a Plus Pitch by the Premier League club on TransferRoom, but remain bottom of League One.
He had previously been Head of Recruitment for St Johnstone, after two years as Head of Analysis and Opposition Scouting at fellow Scottish club Dundee United.
In a short statement, Forest Green said: "We’d like to thank Stevie for his efforts at FGR and we wish him all the best for the future."
Speaking at a club Q&A this week, Owner Dale Vince said: "Some of the player recruitment] was good and some of it wasn’t. Stevie wasn’t solely to blame, but he was the Head of Recruitment."
