Fast, direct and efficient: TransferRoom not only enables quick agreements between clubs in the transfer market. The friendlies feature is an ideal way to fill the World Cup downtime.
TransferRoom's huge database, with hundreds of foreign clubs, means we can aim to test ourselves against different playing styles and make new lasting connections for FC Midtjylland.
Decision-makers at clubs worldwide are using football's digital marketplace to arrange friendly matches, and activity is ramping up with the unusual spectre of a winter FIFA World Cup on the horizon.
With a mini pre-season coming up, clubs will be desperate to keep their squad fine-tuned for the second half of the campaign and what better way to do that than on the pitch against competitive opposition.
It’s why more than 350 clubs across the TransferRoom community have placed friendly adverts on the platform.
It means there are over 200 live opportunities right now to arrange matches against clubs, including many from Europe’s top five leagues.
It is the perfect revenue-generating opportunity for clubs while the World Cup is in full swing and the easiest way to schedule games in this most stop-start of seasons.
Making friends at home and abroad
Danish club FC Midtjylland have been one of the earliest users of the friendly match function on TransferRoom. Over the 2022 summer period, their games against domestic rivals Odense and Aalborg were arranged in quick time on the platform, while Eredivisie side Heerenveen arranged three matches against fellow Dutch clubs.
Even when you have strong connections in your own market, having access to clubs’ calendars at the click of a button makes for an efficient process.
Kristian Kjaer, Head of Scandinavian Scouting & Head of Sports Law, FC Midtjylland, explains: “We have found the friendly feature an extremely useful part of the TransferRoom platform. It has allowed us to plan quickly and efficiently for first-team fixtures.”
There are more than 650 clubs from 100 leagues in over 60 countries on TransferRoom, giving clubs like FC Midtjylland plenty of global options.
Kjaer continues: “TransferRoom's huge database, with hundreds of foreign clubs, means we can aim to test ourselves against different playing styles and make new lasting connections for FC Midtjylland.”
Claudio Chiellini, Sporting Director of Serie B club Pisa, and former Loans Manager at Juventus, the first Italian club to join TransferRoom, adds: “Pitching players and searching for available players are obviously the most simple to use features on TransferRoom, but now working for a second division club I have come to realise the friendlies feature is very useful.”
