Les Ferdinand loves how TransferRoom enables clubs to talk honestly and directly – and he’s not the only one.
There was nobody in between claiming one person is saying this and another person is saying that.
The Covid-19 pandemic may have prevented key decision-makers from meeting face-to-face but June’s Virtual Summit meant they could still get down to business without any agents or other intermediaries being involved.
Ferdinand, Director of Football for Championship club Queens Park Rangers, said: "Speaking to most of the sporting directors, the most common theme that came out of it was that there was no middle-man here.
"It was a 'me and you' situation and we were talking about what we wanted to do and how we were going to do it.
“There was nobody in between claiming one person is saying this and another person is saying that."
Direct communication between clubs about what sort of players they are looking to sell, buy or loan, is at the heart of TransferRoom’s unique offering.
Ferdinand was among more than 250 recruitment bosses to take advantage of the Virtual Summit by pre-arranging online discussions with counterparts from other clubs.
And the former England, Newcastle and Tottenham striker believes online transfer talks will become the norm in the post-pandemic world.
Ferdinand told Sky Sports News: “We spent two hours talking to 15 clubs. I spoke to Monaco and Juventus and they told me what they have in their system in case we want to loan a player.
“With the pandemic that’s happened, I think this is going to be a way that people do quite a lot of business."
