AC Milan have announced that Technical Director Paolo Maldini has departed, while S.S. Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare has left after 15 years in the job.
We thank him for his years of service in the role, contributing to the return to the Champions League and to winning the Scudetto in 2021-22. His day-to-day duties will be performed by a team working in close integration with the first team manager, ultimately reporting to the CEO [Giorgio Furlani].
An icon for Italian giants Milan as a player, Maldini (pictured top) made 902 appearances and won 26 trophies in 25 years at the San Siro.
After retiring, he became the Rossoneri's Director of Development in August 2018, before being promoted to Technical Director the following summer.
He helped Milan win the 2021-22 Serie A title in 2021-22, securing a return to the UEFA Champions League.
In a statement, the club said: "We thank him for his years of service in the role, contributing to the return to the Champions League and to winning the Scudetto in 2021/22.
"His day-to-day duties will be performed by a team working in close integration with the first team manager, ultimately reporting to the CEO [Giorgio Furlani]."
