Oliver Mintzlaff is stepping down as the CEO and Chairman of RB Leipzig to focus his activities on the Red Bull Group.
He [Dietrich Mateschitz] was a great personality, incredibly charismatic, creative and visionary. For me, in addition to the great gratitude towards him - and what he made possible for us as a club - the responsibility is particularly important to continue his vision for RB Leipzig in his spirit. That's not just my motivation, it's what drives us all."
His last day with the Bundesliga club will be November 15, after which he will be CEO of Corporate Projects and New Investments at the Austrian energy drink giant.
Mintzlaff will remain on the club's advisory board.
The change has been made following the recent death of Red Bull founder and owner Dietrich Mateschitz.
On Mateschitz's impact, Mintzlaff told Sport Bild: "He was a great personality, incredibly charismatic, creative and visionary. For me, in addition to the great gratitude towards him - and what he made possible for us as a club - the responsibility is particularly important to continue his vision for RB Leipzig in his spirit. That's not just my motivation, it's what drives us all."
For now, management of RB Leipzig will be taken on by Florian Hopp and Johann Plenge.
Max Eberl, formerly the Sporting Director of Borussia Monchengladbach, will join RB Leipzig in the same role in mid-December, while former Technical Director Christopher Vivell is expected to join Chelsea FC.
