FC Twente have wasted little time in finding a successor to Jan Streuer as Technical Director, lining up former Netherlands' international Arnold Bruggink.
We expect to reach an agreement with Arnold soon, after which he will start working at FC Twente from mid-March. Current Technical Director Jan Streuer will train him and support him for the time being.
Bruggink started and ended his playing career with Twente.
He is understood to have been the first choice of Streuer, who will work with Bruggink for a transition period until the end of the season.
It will be Bruggink's first Technical Director role, with the 45-year-old having been an analyst for ESPN in recent years.
Paul van der Kraan, General Manager of FC Twente, said: "We expect to reach an agreement with Arnold soon, after which he will start working at FC Twente from mid-March. Current Technical Director Jan Streuer will train him and support him for the time being."
It emerged earlier in February that Streuer, whose contract expires at the end of the season, had been offered a one-year extension, but decided against staying with the Eredivisie club.
Streuer, a former Director of Football at Vitesse Arnhem and Chief Scout of Shakhtar Dontesk, joined Twente in the summer of 2020.
