Bayer Leverkusen Frauen Strengthen Global Recruitment with TransferRoom's Women's Marketplace
by Greg Stubley

Technical Director Achim Feifel explains why Bayer Leverkusen Frauen have joined TransferRoom's Women's Marketplace as the Bundesliga club continues to build for long-term success through smarter recruitment and stronger international connections.

The transfer market exploded the last two or three years. It's very important to be successful with the right transfers for your club. We need this platform to build up more and more our networks and to be more successful

Building a sustainable future in the Frauen-Bundesliga

Bayer Leverkusen Frauen have become the latest club to join TransferRoom's Women's Marketplace as they continue to strengthen their recruitment strategy in one of Europe's fastest-growing women's football environments.

Competing in the Frauen-Bundesliga, Leverkusen have established themselves as one of Germany's most consistent clubs, combining first-team competitiveness with a strong commitment to developing young talent.

Leading that vision is Technical Director Achim Feifel, who oversees the club's entire women's football operation.

Before stepping into the role, Feifel spent three years as Head Coach at Bayer Leverkusen Women, helping shape the team's playing identity before moving into a strategic position responsible for recruitment, squad planning, staffing and the continued development of the club's academy.

"My name is Achim Feifel. I'm the Technical Director of Bayer Leverkusen women's club in the first league of German Bundesliga," Feifel explained.

"Before, I worked as a coach for three years in the club and then changed into the role of the Technical Director with responsibility for the whole women's football.

"So, responsible for the first team, the planning for the squad, also for the staff, but also to build up a more successful youth academy for the young players."

As Technical Director, Feifel believes having a defined football identity is only effective if clubs can consistently recruit players who fit it.

"When we have a clear philosophy and strategy, it's easier to find the right players," he said.

"I'm sure that the TransferRoom platform will help us to be more successful in the future to find these profiles of players we are searching for."

Women's football has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years, bringing greater investment, increased competition and a faster-moving transfer market.

For Feifel, clubs must evolve alongside it.

"The transfer market exploded the last two or three years, I think," he explained.

"It's very important to be successful with the right transfers for your club.

"We need this platform to build up more and more our networks and to be more successful."

By joining TransferRoom’s new Women’s Marketplace, Bayer Leverkusen gain direct access to clubs, agents and thousands of player profiles from across the global women's game, making recruitment more transparent, efficient and collaborative.

Alongside the platform itself, Feifel believes the opportunity to connect with decision-makers across the game is equally valuable.

Having attended TransferRoom's inaugural Women’s Football Forum, he experienced first-hand the benefits of bringing together clubs from different countries to exchange ideas and build relationships.

"It's very good to come together with all these international colleagues to hear more from the other strategies and philosophies of the other countries, other clubs," he said.

"We need this platform to build up more and more our networks and to be more successful to find the right players for your club philosophy."

As Bayer Leverkusen continue to build for the future, expanding their global recruitment network through TransferRoom's Women's Marketplace represents another important step in helping the club identify the right talent while strengthening connections across the international women's football community.
