Long history, new approach

Slovakian football is being introduced to the global stage after eight of the 12 clubs in the country’s top league, Niké liga, have signed an agreement with TransferRoom.

It means the following clubs all gain access to the online platform of TransferRoom, and as a result open up unrivalled opportunities in the global transfer market.

FC Spartak Trnava, ŠK Slovan Bratislava and FK Železiarne Podbrezová are the three clubs from Slovakia’s top tier who were already members of TransferRoom and have seen the benefits of football’s only transfer marketplace.

Launched in 2017 and now consisting of more than 800 clubs and 550 agencies across over 130 leagues, TransferRoom provides football decision-makers a platform to contact each other directly, see club requirements on the pitch and financially, player availability and a wealth of comprehensive player, squad and Head Coach data.

“Some of our members have been working with TransferRoom before and after successful talks with the representative of this young, but ambitious project we have been able to finalise a league deal covering 8 out of 12 clubs in the meantime.

“Our DNA is very similar to TransferRoom’s: young and ambitious. We see a lot of potential for our members and even for the league to use the services of our new partner to grow further with the aim to have better transfers from and to the league.”

Niké liga is the latest of a host of competitions who have committed to league-wide access to TransferRoom, including Major League Soccer, Liga MX in Mexico, Poland’s Ektraklasa, the Danish Superliga and the German 3. Bundesliga. TransferRoom is used by the entirety or majority of many of the other top leagues across the globe.

TransferRoom also hosts a series of Summits at key locations around the world each year. The latest Summit was in March 2025, when some of the Slovakian clubs were among the 380 in attendance, alongside 60 agencies.

Over two days in Berlin and one day of online meetings, football executives were able to hold a series of one-to-one meetings and network exclusively so they could build their global network, open up deal opportunities and fast-track ongoing transfer negotiations.
