Thomas leaves as SC Internacional announce two key exits
by Jack Hyom

Sport Club Internacional have announced the departures of Executive Director William Thomas and Technical Coordinator Sandro Orlandelli.

The Executive Director William Thomas and the Technical Coordinator Sandro Orlandelli leave the Club, as we seek to restructure the Football Department. The Club would like to thank both William and Sandro for their work, wishing them luck and success in their careers.

Thomas (pictured above) was appointed in April 2022, having built up over 20 years of experiece including two spells as Technical Director of Club Athletico Paranaense, from 2013-2018 and from 2020-2022.

He also had similar roles at fellow Brazilian Série A clubs Santos FC and Avai FC.

Orlandelli had been in his role for six months. His previous position was the Technical Coordinator at Red Bull Bragantino in São Paulo, the venue for TransferRoom's June 2023 Summit, for close to three years.

Before that, he spent three-and-a-half years at Manchester United as a First-Team Scout and had a two-year stint as Santos FC's Technical Director.

In a statement, SC Internacional said: "The Executive Director William Thomas and the Technical Coordinator Sandro Orlandelli leave the Club, as we seek to restructure the Football Department. The Club would like to thank both William and Sandro for their work, wishing them luck and success in their careers."

The announcement comes after Internacional won just two of their first seven matches of the Série A season, leaving them in 15th place.

Internacional were one of the first South American sides to join TransferRoom in 2020, gaining direct access to more than 650 clubs worldwide to accelerate their transfer business.

Watch Deive Bandeira, their Head of Transfer Management, explain how they managed to make multi-million player sales to Europe through the platform.
