Ricky Martin has been appointed as the new Technical Director at Stoke City after moving from his Academy Manager role at West Ham United.
Ricky brings an enormous amount of experience to the role and has a proven track record in player development and recruitment which makes him an excellent fit for us.
Martin will work closely with manager Alex Neil at the Championship club, overseeing the player recruitment, scouting analysis, medical and sports science departments as well as the academy.
He arrives with a wealth of experience as both a Technical Director and Academy Manager, having filled both roles at Norwich City during 16 years at Carrow Road before switching to West Ham's youth department in 2017.
He was promoted to Academy Manager two years later and has spent three years at Premier League club West Ham.

Stoke Head of Football Operations Andy Cousins has taken on the Head of Recruitment role.
Executive hires in the Championship
- Brian Tinnion has been appointed as Bristol City's Technical Director. Tinnion, who has worked with the club for almost 30 years, will oversee player recruitment and lead the academy.
- West Bromwich Albion have hired Chris Brunt, a club legend as a player, as Loans Manager. He will nurture young players during their spells away from The Hawthorns.
- Last month, former Scotland and Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam took on the role of Loans Manager and Professional Development Phase Coach at Burnley FC.
