Hapoel Be’er Sheva have gone trans-Atlantic by signing two Argentinian players on loan. The Israeli club struck a €2m deal to sell Eden Shamir to Belgian side Standard Liege with the help of TransferRoom.
TransferRoom has opened up many markets that were more difficult to touch before, like South America. The time difference is no longer an issue because the platform enables us to make contact with clubs there at any hour of the day and establish good relationships with them.
But Elyaniv Barda, Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s sporting director, revealed the platform had enabled the club to expand its horizons and bring in Marcelo Meli and Mariano Bareiro from Racing Club de Avellaneda during the current window.
Barda said: “TransferRoom has opened up many markets that were more difficult to touch before, like South America. The time difference is no longer an issue because the platform enables us to make contact with clubs there at any hour of the day and establish good relationships with them.
“We loaned two players from Racing. It could lead to a very good friendship and collaboration between our two clubs. I think we can help them to develop many talents that do not get enough minutes in Argentinian football. They can start developing here, in European football, and then maybe go back to Racing as better players or we find a solution and we can buy them.”
Direct contact is standard
Hapoel Be’er Sheva also did good business in the last summer transfer window thanks to TransferRoom.
Barda explained: “Standard Liege contacted us through the platform about Eden Shamir. He was one of our best players but they made us an offer we could not refuse and we struck a deal very quickly. I wish him good luck and I see that he’s doing well there. For us TransferRoom is making communication much easier and we are making direct contact with clubs, with presidents and owners. It saves time and the negotiation is shorter.”
Football without borders
TransferRoom connects clubs at all levels in every corner of the globe and helps their decision-makers get down to business.
Barda, a former Israeli international striker, said: “Hapoel Be’er Sheva is using TransferRoom to create contacts and relationships with clubs all around the world. The platform is very useful because it helps us to close deals and find associates. TransferRoom improves the connection between us and other clubs. We can always get in contact and know exactly what’s happening in the market.”
