RSC Anderlecht have confirmed the departure of CEO Peter Verbeke.
As soon as Peter recovered, the club sat down with Peter about his future. Despite a respectful and serene dialogue, these talks did not result in a renewed collaboration... RSC Anderlecht wishes to express its gratitude to Peter Verbeke for his work over the past years and wishes him nothing but the best for the future.
Verbeke took medical leave in October 2022, and despite making a full recovery and returning to the top-flight Belgian club, he has now permanently left.
He began his career in professional football in 2013 as Recruitment Coordinator at Club Brugge, joining KAA Gent as Sports Manager five years later. In March 2020 he became Head of Sports at Anderlecht, becoming CEO a year ago.
Anderlecht recently appointed Viborg Sporting Director Jesper Fredberg as CEO of Sports, with Kenneth Bornauw taking on the role of CEO, non-Sports, in charge of the operational and commercial departments of the club.
In a statement, Anderlecht said: "As soon as Peter recovered, the club sat down with Peter about his future. Despite a respectful and serene dialogue, these talks did not result in a renewed collaboration... RSC Anderlecht wishes to express its gratitude to Peter Verbeke for his work over the past years and wishes him nothing but the best for the future."
