All change at FC Wacker with new owners, board and Sporting Director
by Jonathan Rest

FC Wacker Innsbruck, the Austrian second division club under new ownership, have appointed Selcuk Coskun as their new Sporting Director.

Wacker Innsbruck is a club with a great tradition, many successes and also some big challenges. But we know about our possibilities, about the great fan base, the many top players and the spirit that inspires everyone.
Kevin Radi
President-elect, FC Wacker Innsbruck

Coskun is a surprise choice for Wacker in that, while a former amateur player, he has made his money in the hospitality industry. He will be supported by Roland Kopp, the experienced German coach, who will act as a consultant to the club.

Kopp is a player agent and therefore is forbidden from having an official role with Wacker and he cannot be a member of the board.

Coskun, who will sit on the board, succeeds Alfred Hörtnagl as Sporting Director.

FC Wacker have struggled financially since their relegation from the Austrian Bundesliga in 2018-19. A number of investors have come and gone since then, but the club's future now looks secure under the new ownership of Black Rock GmbH, a group of Tyrol-based investors.

Kevin Radi (pictured) will formally be installed as the new President at March's General Assembly, with Thomas Kerle, Head of Legal, the only existing board member to stay on with the new ownership.

Radi, a real estate entrepreneur, said: "Wacker Innsbruck is a club with a great tradition, many successes and also some big challenges. But we know about our possibilities, about the great fan base, the many top players and the spirit that inspires everyone. There is incredible potential that we cannot fully exploit at the moment. But if we join forces, we will make it, and I would like to thank everyone who is accompanying and supporting us on this journey."
